This seat was represented by Marie Parente. She just lost in the Democratic primary to John Fernandes. Marie was a leading opponent of LGBT rights for 20 years. She has opposed basic civil rights for gays and lesbians, adoption rights, and marriage rights. Her loss is a huge gain for the gay community. Now we need to make sure that John Fernandes beats his Republican opponent in November. John has pledged to protect equal marriage rights for gay and lesbians. Please contact the Fernandes campaign to find out what you can do to help John get elected.
